Anita studied at Camberwell School of Art where Lucie Rie and Hans Coper were two of her tutors. For many years she was a potter/sculptor making individual, hand-built, organic sculptures in clay, using earthy glazes. She started painting about 17 years ago and has since produced a large body of work. She began by experimenting with big watercolours using a richly coloured palette, then went on to produce multi-layered, richly textured and burnt works on paper, which mirror her sculptures.

From life drawings Anita developed the series "Kosmos"; black silhouetted bodies are floating and gesticulating. These are painted in acrylic on white canvas or paper. Other developments were used in the concertina books and also in the photocopy work, where she made drawings of patterned numbers and lettering. Her current work is of ink-patterned drawings and black silhouette cut-outs, photocopied and collaged on large circles; producing a kaleidoscopic image.

As well as exhibiting in England (Mexican Gallery and The Discerning Eye to name just two group shows) Anita has exhibited her work in Amsterdam, Antwerp and in the solo show "Solitude Abandonment, Doubt & Hope" in The Museum of Modern Art, Santa Catarina, Brazil, in 2003. A movie of the show in Brazil can be seen here.
